Annual General Meeting
The last meeting of the season was our Annual General Meeting. Club Chairman, Alan Chowney, reviewed the year, which despite Covid restrictions, had been a very successful one. This had been the club’s second year of holding its meetings by the medium of Zoom and it had turned this situation to its advantage by having guest speakers from much farther away than would have been normal and having on-line activities which proved to be very informative and enjoyable.
Competitions went on throughout the year, albeit in a slightly modified fashion, and Alan was pleased to announce that Ballynahinch novices had been placed second in the NIPA competitions and the advanced members had been placed joint fourth.
A new committee was elected, and its first task will be to plan an exciting programme of events for the 2022/23 season. It is hoped to go back to physical meetings in September when the club will return to its usual venue of Edengrove Presbyterian Church Hall in Ballynahinch on Thursday evenings between September and April. It is also hoped to arrange a few outings during the summer months to enable members to meet up and exchange expertise in outdoor settings.
