Annual General Meeting of 5th best club in Northern Ireland!
Last week’s meeting took the form of the Annual General Meeting. Outgoing chairman, Terry, welcomed everyone to the virtual meeting and after the minutes of the previous AGM were agreed, he presented his report of the year’s activities. Due to the pandemic all the meetings had been held online and, while Zoom could not entirely make up for physical meetings, it meant that most of the club activities could take place. Terry was pleased to announce that Ballynahinch Camera Club had been place fifth in the NIPA competitions – this represented quite an achievement. The treasurer’s report was presented by Angela McCullagh.
The election of the office bearers for the 2021/22 season then took place and the following were elected to office.
President – Ian Jackson; Chairman – Alan Chowney; Vice-chairman – Angela McCullagh; Secretary – Frances Price; Programme secretary – Keith Wilson; Competition secretary – John Knipe; Treasurer – Angela McCullagh; Press secretary – John Knipe; NIPA Rep. – Alan Cowan; Web masters – Gary Cowan and Keith Wilson; Committee members – Muriel Darling, Terry Hanna and John McCullough.
The results of the internal league were announced and the results are as follows:-
Mono novice: First - John Knipe; Second – Angela McCullagh; Third – Brian Blakely.
Mono advanced: First – Keith Wilson; Second – Terry Hanna; Third – John Gallagher.
Colour novice: First - John Knipe; Second – Gary Cowan; Third – Brian Blakely.
Colour advanced: First – Keith Wilson; Second – Terry Hanna; Third – Frances Price.
PDI novice: First - John Knipe; Second – Angela McCullagh; Third equal – Brian Blakely and Gary Cowan.
PDI advanced: First – Terry Hanna; Second – John Gallagher; Third – Frances Price.
It is hoped that members will have opportunities to meet up over the summer, Covid permitting, for photographic and social activities. It is planned to start the new season at the end of August as usual and the committee have already started working on another exciting series of weekly meetings.
