Novice competition

Ballynahinch Camera Club held its annual Novice Competition last Thursday evening. Guest Judge, William Allen from City of Belfast Photographic Society, had the unenviable task of commenting on all the entries and selecting the winning images.

The results are as follows:-

Mono prints: First, Brian Blakely; Second, Gary Cowan; Third, Brian Shields, Highly commended, Brian Shields; Commended, Jim McClean

Colour prints: First, Gary Cowan; Second, John Gallagher; Third, Brian Shields; Highly commended, Brian Shields; Commended, Gary Cowan.

Projected Digital Images: First, Angela McCullagh; Second, Pauline Williams; Thirds, Carole Hawthorne; Highly commended, Carole Hawthorne and John Gallagher; Commended, Jim Hunter and Carole Hawthorne.

At this week’s meeting, the guest speaker will be renowned fine art photographer Laurie Campbell. Laurie’s talk has the intriguing title ‘The view from five foot two!’ and promises to be one of the highlights of the year.
