Panels galore!

Last week’s meeting of the club introduced members to a new and different way of presenting images for competition. It involves presenting several photographs in a pleasing display called a panel. The aim was to encourage members to take their photography to the next level as selecting and preparing images for such a panel is no easy task and standards are very high. This method is used by the main photographic societies when awarding their qualifications and honours. They may ask for ten images in the panel which may or may not be on a theme.

As a club competition, it had been decided to ask members to submit a panel which contained six images and these were judged by Frances. John Gallagher was pronounced the winner with Terry and Jock runners-up.

The special guest at this week’s meeting will be acclaimed wildlife photographer Richard Peters - a night not to be missed.
